Your child's main focus this year will be to learn to socialize with other children their age and separate from mom/dad. Curriculum is planned through bi-weekly themes. They will also learn to recognize their names and verbally spell it. We will begin working with a program called Handwriting Without Tears. At the 3 year old level this program teaches the child positions (up/down), hand placement when writing and beginning writing. In the Spring we start to focus more on writing the letters in their names or at least knowing each letter in their names. They will learn shapes, colors and we will introduce the alphabet and numbers 1-10. This is just a touch of what your child will be learning this year. |

Your child will learn many things this year to prepare them for Kindergarten! Curriculum is planned through bi-weekly themes. We will be working with the program called Handwriting Without Tears. This is a great program for any ability level and will have your child writing correctly by the end of the year. Your child will learn to write their letters, numbers, first name and if ready recognize or write their last names. We also talk a lot about opposites and rhyming. We will review our shapes, colors and numbers 1-10 and continue on with our numbers learning to 20 this year. Children will begin writing their letters as well as learning, through rhymes, the sounds that our alphabet letters make. |
